Sponsored Swim

I've now organised my first fundraising event - A sponsored 2000m swim! The most I've ever done is 1000m, and that was when i was little, so it's going to be a big challenge, but definitely worth it! The swim will take place on the 4th April 2012.
All the money that's raised from the sponsored swim will help to improve the lives of those in need in South Africa. The projects I'll be contributing to will help to improve the local villagers fututres (as well as Africas native wildlife) and that's the main thing!
So please, get sponsoring and help to make a difference!! :) :)

Thankyou!

My Chance to Make a Difference

Hi there!

I've been accepted on to the Volunteer Eco Students Abroad Program and will be travelling to Africa next year to take part in an important sustainable community development project.  I am seeking sponsorship to enable me to participate in the program and complete essential volunteer work in an African village.

Myself and VESA will work in conjunction with the villagers and the village chief in addressing the major issues faced by the village and the local schools such as a lack of fresh running water, dilapidated schools and generally poor infrastructure. Your donation will help to facilitate the means for implementing a major community development project, which will encompass construction in addition to educating the community on matters of conservation, sustainability, health/hygiene and English proficiency.

As well as participating in humanitarian work, I will also be working with National Park authorities to help conserve Africa’s wildlife, such as cheetahs, leopards and crocodiles.

By sponsoring me, you will be directly assisting with the costs involved in participating in the program. These costs are significant and include hiring local skilled trades people to supervise and assist in the building projects, building materials and donations to local organizations. Every volunteer will complete a minimum of 40 hours of hands on community based volunteer work.

I really would appreciate donations of any amount, which will enable me to participate in this vital community development program. Whilst VESA is a volunteer organisation, it is not a registered charity so donations will not be tax deductible.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me to make a difference, donating my time and energy into volunteering overseas on summer 2012. If you are able to help, even in the smallest way it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Stacey directly on 07758856424 to make a donation.
